DKL was founded by our family in 2022, with a mission to share our love for soul food with our community. Our recipes have been passed down through generations, and we take pride in using traditional cooking techniques to create authentic dishes that remind us of our roots.

Meet the Family

Muriel Donnell

Muriel is the heart of Donnell's Kitchen. She is part owner, the eldest daughter of Craig, and one half of
the dream team that creates the magic behind the scenes. Though finding success with her electrical engineering degree, Muriel still longed for something more. Motivated by the desire to show her twin boys Ellis and Ellijah, that one can be successful and happy, she combined her passion for food and desire for independence and ownership. With her sister by her side, she opened Donnell's Kitchen Playlist food truck. After two years of success on the road, their customers wanted more! The brick-and-mortar that is Donnell's Kitchen was born from Donnell's Kitchen Playlist.

Kristen Donnell

With a master's degree in Health Care Management, the last thing Kristen thought she would be is part
owner of a restaurant, but her love of family and food and her business acumen called her to Donnell's
Kitchen. She is the brains and the beautiful face of the Donnell's Kitchen brand. As the youngest child of
Craig, she strives to pass the legacy of love and soul to her daughter Sadie.

Craig Donnell

Craig Donnell began to cook at an early age, while watching his mother and sisters in the Kitchen. These
informal cooking lessons were the foundation of what would one day be Donnell's Kitchen. Craig, by
trade, is a Master Electrician and a business owner. But his proudest titles are husband, father, brother,
uncle, and child of God. His unmatched love and belief in his children are why their dreams are able to become a reality.
